Title: Technology Support Systems Endpoint Engineer
Reports to: Director of Technology
Work Schedule: 260 Day-Full-Time

The Delaware Area Career Center Technology Support Systems Endpoint Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise for the configuration, installation, servicing, and repair of the district’s technology equipment and the specialized technology-based lab equipment. This job description is a comprehensive list of essential functions. Essential functions are job duties a staff member must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a field appropriate for this position (Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Management, Educational Technology or other equivalent disciplines) and/or three (3) years of relevant work experience preferred
- Current certifications in CompTIA A+, CompTIA N+, Security+, Google Education I, Google Foundational Cloud, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, JAMF 100, and or Apple School Manager preferred
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the preservation of DACC’s technology equipment
- Responsible for ensuring district’s technology is up to date with industry standard cybersecurity measures
- Responsible for providing tier one technical support to students, staff, and families for the effective use of computers, software and other IT peripherals
- Responsible for recommending, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Chromebook devices
- Responsible for managing service requests
- Responsible for recommending, configuring and maintaining Google Workspace
- Responsible for recommending, installing, maintaining and repairing imaging systems for endpoints
- Responsible for regularly using and maintaining a centralized inventory system
- Responsible for leading by example with a commitment to self-development through setting targets of training and development activities related to current and future job requirements
- Responsible for leading by example regarding direction and motivation through personal integrity, responsibility and accountability related to current and future job requirements
- Responsible for job success by planning and organizing time appropriately and keeping current with appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals and objectives
- Responsible for providing leadership in staff meetings
- Responsible for seeking professional growth opportunities and passing any new knowledge onto district staff
- Responsible for providing technical training to DACC staff
- Responsible for regularly using a ticketing system to log incidents and service requests
- Responsible for provisioning and de-provisioning technology for student/staff use
- Responsible for developing and enforcing rules, policies and procedures that promote the stability, security, proper use and care of IT equipment
- Responsible for receiving, inspecting and testing equipment and software
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment
- Responsible for maintaining repair records
- Responsible for being available to work irregular hours and/or a non-traditional schedule
- Responsible for ensuring that equipment is safe to use and available when needed
- Responsible for establishing and managing user accounts
Communication & Support:
- Responsible for supporting leadership in order to help staff improve proficiency with technology resources
- Responsible for submitting reports, records and inventories as directed
- Responsible for supporting teachers enabling them to explore innovative technologies that will enhance classroom activities
- Responsible for working with DACC staff and vendors to address equipment warranty, repair and security
- Responsible for supporting DACC staff and vendors regarding construction and installation activities
- Responsible for communicating to the appropriate staff any change management documents
- Responsible for keeping the department director informed regarding work progress via regular and ongoing communication avenues
- Responsible for preparing necessary support documentation. This includes but is not limited to date of installation, locations, upgrades, versions, vendor contact information, etc.
- Responsible for preparing procedure sheets for internal department documentation
- Responsible for preparing documentation for a diverse user base for varying technologies
Endpoint Engineer:
- Responsible for maintaining current A+ certification
- Responsible for maintaining current N+ certification
- Responsible for configuring and managing Microsoft Windows imaging for the district
- Responsible for configuring and managing Mac imaging for the district
- Responsible for running and testing cabling as needed for the district
- Responsible for configuring and patch management of endpoints
- Responsible for inventory systems for endpoints
Professional Responsibilities:
- Responsible for upholding board policies and following administrative procedures
- Responsible for maintaining visibility in the community and promoting a professional image of the school district
- Responsible for developing a strategy to accomplish personal performance objectives within specified timelines
- Responsible for observing established school hours
- Responsible for enforcing applicable Ohio Revised Codes

- Responsible for watching for student behavior that may include a problem and reporting those concerns to the appropriate administrator. This includes but is not limited to:

- Responsible for wearing appropriate work attire and maintaining a neat appearance

- Knowledge of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards

- Knowledge of FERPA, IDEA and HIPPA
- Knowledge of existing and emerging education and instructional technologies and software
- Knowledge of all DACC adopted software
- Knowledge in IT networking with LAN, WAN, enterprise Wi-Fi,
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of Apple operating systems
- Knowledge of the use of a wide range of information technology systems and learning management system
- Knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Skilled at effective verbal and written communication
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Skilled in collaboration and decision-making, seeking consensus whenever possible
- Skilled in conflict resolution
- Skilled at developing rapport and interacting effectively with students and staff
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
